Cognitive Load Theory Presentation

  • Educational Psychology - EDU 3343

  • Fall 2013

During my second semester at Concordia University I took a class that had a profound impact on my attitudes about learning and education. This presentation came from a project where we were distilling the information from a chapter in the texbook and presenting an article that enhanced the same topic. I selected this particular assignment because what I learned about memory and "how" we learn has not only been applied to lesson plans, but also changed my own study habits.

Assessment Handout - Portfolios

  • Teaching Strategy and Assessment - EDU 3311

  • Fall 2014

One of my favorite types of assignments that were given in several classes were handout designs. Everyone in the class selected a key concept from the course and would then create an informative and engaging handout. All of the handouts would then be bound together and given to the students as a resource tool to not only use to study for exams, but also as a reference when the semester was over. This is a handout I designed about using portfolios as an assessment tool.
